Mixed Media Pet Portraits            Ages 5-7          7/8 – 7/12 Monday - Friday    1-4 pm

Dogs, cats, birds, horses, lizards, frogs and more...they're a part of our lives and important family members. We know the love in their eyes better than any other. Work in different media including acrylic, pastel, charcoal, watercolor and marker, to capture that sweet love and friendship through the magic of pet portraiture!  Instructor: Ivy Berg

Cartooning, Characters, Storyboards Ages 7-10    7/8 – 7/12 Monday - Friday    9 – 12 pm

In this class we will learn how to how to draw facial expressions and dynamic actions to tell a story. We will talk about different speech bubbles and how to turn just about any object into a character. We will also be creating a storyboard. Storyboards share many similarities with comic books and our story boards will tell stories through a sequence of drawings and dialogue! Instructor: Kim Falco

Op Art Ages 7-10        7/8 – 7/12 Monday - Friday    1-4 pm

When something plays tricks on your eyes it is called an Optical Illusion. Op Art is artwork that plays tricks on our eyes. In this class we will learn how to use line and color to create our own Optical Illusions. We will also learn about artists who are famous for creating Op Art! Instructor: Kim Falco

Design Your Own Video Game Character Ages 11-14     

7/9 – 7/12 Tues. – Fri., 9 am-12 pm, 1-4 pm or full  day

In this class, we will go over the fundamentals of character design. We will talk about characterization, line quality, movement, character spreads and environments. There will be an emphasis on creating movement and animating form through line. Each student will come out of the class with a character spreadsheet and poster design for their character. Full day students will have the opportunity to receive a deeper study of the subject of their class. Instructor: Nicholas Frizalone

WEEK 2

Painting Animals, Plant, Landscapes     Ages 5-7    7/15 – 7/19 Monday - Friday  1-4 pm

This class is designed with the nature-loving young artist in mind. Work from beautiful photos of familiar and wild animals and plants to create brilliant textural acrylic paintings! Color is our friend and guide as we capture our beautiful world in strokes of light, swirls of a brush and dabs of a sponge! We'll get a closer look at trees, water, sunsets, rainbows, clouds, flowers, fins, fur, whiskers and more!   Instructor: Ivy Berg

 Hand Building Pottery       Ages 7-10        7/15 – 7/19 Monday - Friday  9 am – 12 pm 

“Handbuilding” is working with clay by hand or using only simple tools, not the pottery wheel. We will explore the various ways of creating functional and sculptural objects by learning different hand building techniques: slabs, coils and pinched pots will be studied. (additional material fee) Instructor: Kim Falco

Fashion Design Ages 11 -14     7/16 – 7/19 Tues. – Fri., 9 am-12 pm, 1-4 pm or full day 9-4

In this class, students will learn about fundamentals of fashion design. Students will learn about silhouette, pattern, form, material and texture. We will look at designers like Erdem, Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Iris Van Herpen. Each student will design (but will not make) their own clothing, and will show how it would look in three dimensions (from the back, front and sides.) Full day students will have the opportunity to receive a deeper study of the subject of their class. Instructor: Nicholas Frizalone

WEEK 3

Intro to Art and Ecology           Ages 5-7          7/22 – 7/26 Monday - Friday  1-4 pm            

Calling all young scientists! Come learn about the natural world and celebrate its beauty through art. Explore a different ecosystem each day (oceans, rainforests, deserts and more) and meet its plant and animal inhabitants. Art projects (primarily painting, but also some mixed media) feature the ecosystem and animals of the day. We'll also learn about recycling and creating art out of found objects. Op Art Ages 7-10        7/22 – 7/26 Monday - Friday  9 am - 12 pm

Let’s Draw!: Using Transparencies Ages 11-14   7/23-7/26 Tues-Fri, 9-12 pm, 1-4 pm, full

In this class, students will learn how to utilize transparent layers in their drawings. We will experiment with materials like acetate, stabilo pencils, watercolor and ink. Drawing fundamentals such as line quality, spontaneity, movement, shading, value and composition will be emphasized. Full day students will have the opportunity to receive a deeper study of the subject of their class. Instructor: Nicholas Frizalone

WEEK 4

 Junior Space Explorers!    Ages 5-7          7/29 – 8/2 Monday - Friday    1-4 pm

Planets, stars, galaxies and nebulae...tricks of light born millions of years ago or nearby neighbors waiting to be visited? In this class, we'll learn about the mysteries of the night sky while making our own otherworldly art with paint pours, pastels and even some sculpture! Ever built a solar system before? Now's your chance! Instructor: Ivy Berg

 Creating Desserts Ages 7-10        7/29 – 8/2 Monday - Friday    9 am – 12 pm

In this class we will be painting and drawing different kinds of desserts in the style of artist Wayne Thiebaud. Cakes, cupcakes, candy, ice cream, anything goes! Students be encouraged to use their imagination to create colorful and delicious artwork! Instructor: Kim Falco

Let’s Paint! Still Lifes,Animals Ages 11 – 14   7/30 – 8/2 Tues.-Fri., 9 am-12, 1-4 pm or full

In this class, students will learn how to paint in layers. We will build a painting from a brown/white underpainting to color. Two approaches will be used, a bravura (quickly building in layers) and alla prima (in one sitting.) Value, lighting, color, composition and mark making will be emphasized. Full day students will have the opportunity to receive a deeper study of the subject of their class. Instructor: Nicholas Frizalone


Spots, Stripes and More: Patterns in Nature!    Ages 5-7     8/5 – 8/9 Mon. - Fri.      1-4 pm

We see patterns and textures every day. They add depth and interest to common shapes and objects. Many of these patterns: spirals, cells, stripes, branches, and crystal structures, are seen across different types of animals and plants as well as in the cosmos. We'll explore various patterns and bring them front and center through art using vibrant paint, pencil and pastel colors!  Instructor: Ivy Berg

WEEK 6

Jurassic Camp: Animals of Yesterday  Ages 5-7     8/12 – 8/16 Mon. –Fri. 9 am-12 pm


Journey into the past as we take a closer look at dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and other larger-than-life creatures of air, land and sea! We'll discuss the conditions that allowed them to grow so big and what factors may have led to their decline. This class offers an introduction to animal drawing and painting techniques with a slightly different spin on the traditional animal subject. Put on your paleontologist hat, and join in the fun! Instructor: Ivy Berg

 Draw Mixed Media & Technique Ages 11-14   8/13 -8/16 Tues.-Fri., 9-12 pm, 1-4 pm, full day

In this class, students will learn both the fundamentals of drawing from life (or a photograph) and will learn how to finish an image. Various mediums and techniques will be shown, and each student will pick the subjects they want to draw, studying artists that match their subjects and individual artistic language.  WEEK 7

 Junior Fashionistas        Ages 5-8        August 19 – 22   Monday-Thursday    9 am – 12 pm 

It’s never too early to get into fashion. Students will learn everything they want to know about the fashion world and how to draw beautiful fashion figures and clothes. Lace, sequins, glitter, shimmer fabric and buttons are just a few of the things we’ll use to embellish our collections. A must for any budding designer. Instructor: Irene Tetrault

 Unbelievable Unicorns      Ages 5-8     August 20 – 23   Tues.-Fri.    1 -4pm                     

Students will learn to draw all types of unicorns in this magical class. Careful attention to detail will be covered to make our unicorns as amazing as possible. Tons of glitter, sequins and sparkle paint will be used to keep the shine level high! Instructor: Irene Tetrault

 Quilting Bee Ages 7-10        August 26, 27, 28 & 30 Mon., Tues., Wed., Fri.  9 - 12 pm

Learn to Quilt! This fun class will cover quilting techniques as well as beginner sewing skills. There will be an assortment of colorful fabrics and plenty of buttons and beads to make our quilts, pillows and gifts truly one of a kind. A must for any young seamstress or tailor. Instructor: Irene Tetrault

Fashion 'Round the Word     Ages 7-10     August 26, 27, 28 & 30    Mon., Tues., Wed., Fri.  1 - 4 pm

Grab your passport, because Fashion is international! Our Fashion Travelers will learn how to draw the fashion figure and all about international fashion trends that will inspire our drawn and painted creations. A new continent will be explored every day with plenty of fun supplies to bring our fashions to life.  Instructor: Irene Tetrault

The Fine Art of Pet Portraits Ages 10-13       August 26-30 1 - 4 pm

Kids are natural portrait artists, and drawing animals is a great place to start! We'll explore media such as acrylic paint, charcoal and pastel to create original art featuring our favorite fuzzy, scaled and feathered companions! Bring photos from home or choose from the class stash (dogs, cats, horses, birds, lizards and more). All levels welcome...no experience necessary, but for those who've painted animals before, we'll look to further refine those skills to create truly lifelike art! Instructor: Ivy Berg

We urge you to register at least 2 weeks before the beginning of a class session, since minimum enrollment of 5 students must be met for a class to be held.  If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, your full payment will be refunded.

Once you are registered, we will update you on enrollment via the email address on registration form. Sorry, we cannot hold a place in a class without payment/registration forms.  We do not pro-rate fees due to planned absences, illnesses, vacation schedules or other conflicts. Only students who join a class after missing the first day will be prorated.

Students may bring nut-free snacks, drinks and lunches (full day). Please make sure your child’s food/drinks are labeled with their name. We have a refrigerator if needed. The gallery has central AC, so if your child tends to chill easily, please send an old sweatshirt.
