You Can Draw!  Ages: 8-10  $125

Saturdays 11:30-1:30    March 2, 9, 16, 23   Through drawing and painting, students will learn to understand the dimensions of art, improve their skills and be challenged to think creatively. Come and explore your unlimited abilities! This class will accelerate your student’s drawing abilities as they learn basic drawing strategies, foundations and techniques such observational drawings, size relationships, perspectives and more. Use acrylics, watercolors, tempera and pastels to create your own masterpieces.  Explore different painting styles and techniques that will widen your artistic skill and imagination.  Mixed Media Creatures, Monsters, Mythological Beasts!      Ages 10-13 $125

Saturdays 1:45 -3:45              March 2, 9, 16, 23 Have you ever doodled a little monster, mermaid, alien or fairy? Do you love books, movies, and cartoons that have creatures of all sorts? Focusing on the elements and principles of art and design, students will learn important art making skills and concepts while creating the wildest, wackiest, cutest characters they can imagine. Come visit our monster wall installation and add your own hand drawn creature. Experiment with oil pastel, watercolor, acrylic paint, colored pencil, and more to create amazing drawings. Learn how to draw big and come up with you own unique style! All skill levels welcome. Instructor: Krista Biedenbach

Drawing & Color Media         Ages 8 - 10  $125

Saturdays 11:30-1:30    Mar. 30, Apr. 6, 13, 20        This class is designed for students who wish to continue building their drawing and art making skills that may have already taken You Can Draw. Students will use color media to create fabulous works of art. Materials include watercolor, chalk pastel, oil pastels, colored pencils and watercolor pencils. Students will be encouraged to approach activities creatively and explore subject matter to meet their interests. Instructor: Krista Biedenbach

 Drawing / Mixed Media Clinic for the Young Artist    Ages 10-13 $125

Saturdays 1:45 - 3:45    Mar. 30, Apr. 6, 13, 20  Our Drawing program is designed to introduce students to a variety of drawing techniques & mediums. Whatever the student’s technical skill level, we will encourage you to use creative thinking to make artwork that reflects both your inner and outer worlds. Class directed interests decide the subject matter of our drawing explorations and typically revolve around: animals, people, landscapes, plant life and imagined ideas. Mediums include: pencil, pen, ink, oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal, watercolor, and more. Continuing or repeat students welcome with new projects as each class is catered to meet the needs and interests of each student. Instructor: Krista Biedenbach 

Off the Runway! Fashion Illustration for Beginners    Ages 9-11   $95

Saturdays 11:30-1:30    April 27, May 4, 11     Learn how the fashion figure is drawn in the professional industry. See trends from different eras and develop your own style. Experiment with different media to show excitement and attitude in your fashion illustrations. Draw your own dream outfits! Also, create a work of wearable art! Krista Biedenbach 

Famously Fashionable! Ages 9-11   $95

Saturdays 11:30-1:30        May 18, 25  June 1        Fashion Illustration for Advanced Students. Come and explore far-out media and fun fashion influences to boost the attitude in your fashion figures! Also, create a wearable work of art from your very own fashion illustrations. Galactic Exploration   Ages 5-7


Planets, stars, galaxies and nebulae...tricks of light born millions of years ago or nearby neighbors waiting to be explored? In this class, we'll learn about the mysteries of the night sky while making our own otherworldly art with paint pours, pastels and more! We'll even design our own planets. No previous experience required. Just an enthusiasm for space and eagerness to learn. Instructor: Ivy Berg (Note: 1.5 hr. class...bring a snack!) Earth Safari: Painting Wild Animals   Ages 8-12

Our beautiful planet is graced by magnificent animals of air, land and sea, each decorated with nature's brilliant paintbrush in feathers, scales, fur and more to create a palette of endless possibilities! In this class, we draw and paint wild animals in their natural habitats (from photos, of course) focusing on special features that make each animal perfectly suited to its environment. We'll use acrylic paint on canvas to best capture the brilliance of each creature. Bring your love of nature & eagerness to learn!  Instructor: Ivy Berg (2 hr. class...bring a snack!)

Fantastic Beasts & How to Paint Them!   Ages 8-12


Who doesn't love a creature born of the imagination? Dragons, unicorns, griffins and beasts yet unknown! This class gives emerging artists the opportunity to bring their own imagined beasts of air, land and sea to life in paint. We begin by brainstorming and sketching our creatures using a combination of imagination and real-life animal references photos. Then we transfer those creatures to canvas and infuse them with beautiful acrylic color!  Bring your wildest ideas and eagerness to learn!  Instructor: Ivy Berg (Note: 2 hr. class...bring a snack!)

Registration Procedures: We urge you to register at least 2 weeks before the beginning of a class session, since minimum enrollment must be met for classes to be held. We do not pro-rate fees due to planned absences, illnesses, vacation schedules or other conflicts.

The Arts are a fundamental tool to enhance learning…a child’s interaction with art sparks inspiration, creativity and imagination.  Art Classes at Mills Pond Gallery...a wonderful opportunity for children to explore their creativity within the colorful and vibrant surroundings of a contemporary art gallery. Open to children of all experience levels. Always new projects for students taking multiple weeks/same classes!  All classes will run with minimum 4 students.
