Known for his portraits and narrative paintings, Zimou Tan has received national and international awards. He is a member of ARC (The Art Renewal Center) as an Associate Living Master Artist. Tan has exhibited with the California Art Club, The New York Portrait Society Gallery, the Allied Artists of America, The Butler Institute of American Art, the American Artists Professional League, de Young Museum, the Asia Society of Arts of America, and Kaiping museum Canton China among others.
Tan’s work has been featured in "International Artist Magazine," "Art of the West Magazine," "The Artist Magazine," "Stroke of Genius," "Chinese Master Artist," and "The 50 Artists impacted China". Idyllwild Art League (annual competition judge) among others. Tan has taught art for over 20 years in universities and workshops in many states in America and China. His artwork aims to capture the essence and spirit of his subject, using the figures to tell stories to communicate with the viewer’s emotions.
