While still living in New York City, she studied with Rick Brosen (watercolor), Wolf Kahn (pastel), Sam Adoquei (drawing, oil and watercolor), David Dewey and John Goodrich (watercolor) at the National Academy of Design in New York. Andrea has participated in various professional workshops elsewhere, such as those of Pedro Cano in Italy.
Andrea’s work focuses on plein air/ landscapes, still life and abstract compositions, merging traditional with experimental techniques in watercolor, oil and pastel mediums. In addition to the North Shore of Long Island, locales include England, Scotland, Venice and Southern Italy (especially Naples and Sicily) as well as New York's Central Park. Andrea paints primarily in watercolor, at times integrating other media such as pastel and oil.
